ACCOUNT DIRECTOR
Salary: £45,000 – £60,000
Location: Glasgow
GENERAL OVERVIEW
This role will be both client focused and business development focused. You will devise and deliver strategies with political and stakeholder engagement as well as media and community engagement services. You will be responsible for delivering and implementing agreed strategies alongside the Senior Management Team for clients, whilst managing your account team. You will have a broad knowledge of all accounts along with associated proposals whilst ensuring a positive relationship is maintained with clients.
In terms of business development, you must be aware of the market and competitors and be able to actively contribute by identifying opportunities, developing pitches as well as supporting the Managing Director and Director in closing deals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifying the best outcomes for clients whilst developing and implementing strategies within the agreed timescales.
- Regularly evaluate the account team’s client delivery against the level of service and billing. Highlight and remedy with the Senior Management Team any irregularities.
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of client accounts and managing the team including Account Managers/Executives to ensure all work is produced in a timely fashion and is of the highest quality.
- Lead political and stakeholder engagement for clients, by organising and attending meetings with key political stakeholders at a local authority and national level and maintaining contact throughout projects.
- Lead media and community engagement for client projects, including drafting and issuing press releases, responding to press inquiries and organising photo ops, as well as delivering public consultation for client projects, including public exhibitions, community liaison forums, attendance at community council meetings and indirect engagement with the general public.
- Ensure you are informed of key legislation and initiatives where relevant to a particular client base or the Company.
- Ensure you are informed of political and regulatory landscapes for current clients and when new business opportunities arise for the Company.
- Identifying new business opportunities, increasing new business with existing clients and supporting the Senior Management Team in closing new business.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Personal Attributes:

- A self-starter with a background in politics or policy.
Skills:
- The ability to establish and retain professional relationships.
- A good eye for detail.
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- Experienced in networking.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
The post holder should ideally have 5 – 10 years or more experience in public affairs, politics or communications and should possess strong leadership and financial management skills.
The post holder should be educated to at least an undergraduate degree level, preferably in a related subject.
GENERAL COMMENTS

As long as you are competent to perform the role and you have been requested to undertake it by a responsible manager/supervisor if it is within your skill set you should perform the task.
